Take a look at some MiHaven projects

AHSL brings support to Yorkeys Knob

The team from Away from Home Supported Living (AHSL) are working with MiHaven Care to provide overnight onsite support workers for residents at our Yorkeys Knob Specialist Disability Accommodation.

“MiHaven's commitment to accommodating the unique needs of participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) reflects their unwavering dedication to ensuring every individual's comfort, security, and wellbeing. As someone deeply involved in this field, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the transformative impact that MiHaven has on the lives of those they serve.

One remarkable aspect that truly distinguishes MiHaven is their profound understanding of the diverse requirements of NDIS participants. They have displayed an unparalleled level of professionalism in tailoring their accommodations to suit the specific needs of each individual. This personalisation goes beyond mere convenience; it showcases MiHaven's sincere concern for the physical and emotional well-being of their residents.”

A bespoke accessible home

“Our association with James and Sarah from MiHaven goes back to 2015. We had seen and liked their contemporary, sustainable housing designs suited for tropical living, so when it came time for us to downsize and relocate, we went to them. We had an additional requirement - we needed for our house to be accessible.

Del had sustained a spinal cord injury in 2010 so our new home needed to be mobility friendly as well as to incorporate aspects of ageing in place. Fortunately the MiHaven designs and company ethos not only linked with our needs and requirements but the company went the extra mile to ensure that we were consulted at every stage of the design and build.

Their attention to detail in sourcing functional, practical and aesthetically pleasing products such as flooring materials, bathroom and tap fittings and cupboard and door handles was faultless. The entry ramp, door widths, handrails and navigable room spaces were designed and constructed to building standards for disability access.”

“It seems a natural fit for MiHaven to be entering the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) space. Based on our experience, we would wholeheartedly recommend MiHaven to anyone with disability needs who is considering purpose built, specialist accommodation for themselves or a family member. ”

Access Community Housing Cairns

A partnership between MiHaven and Access Community Housing Cairns secured funds from the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund to develop secure accommodation for up to 10 vulnerable women and their children. The project, spearheaded by Access Community Housing (ACHC), is the first time the Far North’s not-for-profit community housing provider has developed its own, tailor-made accommodation solution.

The development was designed and built by MiHaven and handed over to ACHC as a turn-key property ready for vulnerable tenants. The property delivers an innovative solution to resident security, sustainability and energy efficiency, privacy and durability.

“It's been a successful project and a partnership between the Commonwealth Government, the State Government, ACHC and MiHaven. We are really excited that the project will relieve the pressure on shelters and women's services in the Cairns area.”

Donna-Maree O’Connor CEO, ACHC

Darren finds his new HOME

When you meet people like Darren, and his sister, Viv, you really begin to understand the full impact of Specialist Disability Accommodation. Viv tells us that since Darren moved into his new home in Innisfail - one of MiHaven Care’s SDA projects, his whole demeanour has changed for the better. The fact that his family can now come and visit him whenever they want, and he’s now living as independently as possible in his very own home has had a hugely positive impact on his life.
